Website Development
In this area I will try to define the process of developing a good website. Some of the in's and out's of having a website.

First and for most is the DOMAIN NAME, what are you going to call yourself, your website? Now remember you want people to be able to remember your name. You should look for the simplest way to name yourself. Like using just your companies initials, or just a part of your name with initials. Take for instance a company called "Thunderhead Productions" thats a really long name to have to type in so we'll try, "Thunder.com", or TP.com, maybe thunderpro.com, but you see what I mean by keeping your name short.

Next is do you want a .com, .net, .info, .org, there are many to choose from, so here are some guide lines for you. If your going to have a store front, a business service, general website you'll want a .com. If your website is more technical use a .net, if just informational use .info, if your a non-profit, club, or organization then .org is best for you. Sometimes you run into the problem that the .com is not available but the .net is, .net is the second most widly used dots.

Once you have your name figured out, **REGISITER** it!  As soon as you can, before someone else buys the name. On the average a domain name registar charges you 7.95 to 49.95 to registar a domain name, I recommend "GoDaddy" Companies that charge you 39.95 or the higher prices is geerally cause they offer other benifits with the registration of your name with them, like free site submittal to AOL. AOL uses the google search engine and to submit your site to any search engine is free for anyone that has a website, so don't waste your money. Find a company that doesn't provide all the bells and whistels and your have the best deal.

Then you need to decide how much web space will you need for your website. For this you'll need to find a Hosting Company that provides a hosting service for websites, Like me! There are all kinds of hosting packages out on the internet. To determin how much space you need think about what you'll have on your website. Are you going to have pictures, video's, audio. these are things that take up the space allocated for your website. Text does not use much space. If your going to make your wedding album available for your family to view then you need a website that has plenty of webspace and plenty of Bandwidth. I'll explain bandwidth a bit later. Think of your website as a Storage room or shed. You only have some much room to store things inside of that room. If your room hold 10 boxes and you have 11 boxes they won't all fit. And if you do by chance get the 11th box to somehow fit it will actually shut your website down for "OVER QUOTA"
